Meander Through Bangkok’s Alleys and Riverside in an Original Way!
Bangkok Riverside (18 km, duration 3.5–4 hours)
Starting from Samsen in the historic district, you will reach Wat Suthat, one of Thailand’s most important temples. Then, visit the bustling Pak Khlong Flower Market, active both day and night.
From there, take a barge across the Chao Phraya River and disembark in front of Wat Kalayanamit, home to Bangkok’s largest Buddha statue.
Next, explore the picturesque alleys of Kudee Chin, featuring the charming Santa Cruz Church, and take a refreshing break at Wat Prayoon, famous for its turtles.
Stroll through this peaceful riverside area before reaching the modern world at IconSiam, a vast shopping complex opened in 2018, housing one of Asia’s largest malls, hotels, and residences.
After crossing the river again, you will reach the west bank and have the opportunity to sample some local specialties*, before passing by the temple housing the largest solid-gold Buddha statue.
Continue to the bustling Chinatown, a true maze of commercial alleys, then immerse yourself in the Indian atmosphere of Little India, along the Rob Krung Khlong.
Finally, leisurely make your way back to Wat Saket (Golden Mount) and end this walk by returning to Samsen via the small canals.

Gentle Khlongs Ride (13 km, duration 3.5–4 hours)
Departing from Samsen, take small alleys to reach the Rama VIII Bridge and cross the Chao Phraya River. On the east bank, explore a traditional neighborhood with alleyways leading to Wat Praya Siri Iyasawan and Wat Dao.
Continue toward Pinklao Bridge and Wat Dusidaram, passing the Royal Barges National Museum, where you can see the royal barge and other traditional vessels.
Your ride will then take you to Bangkok Noi along the khlong to the Wat Thong Market, perfect for a pause. Continue along the canal to the Siriraj Foundation and Thailand’s oldest public hospital. On the way, see Thonburi Station and its steam locomotives, still used for special events.
Cross the Wang Lang Market, then visit Wat Rakang and its teak Buddhist library. Take a barge back to the west bank at Tha Chang Pier, with views of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew.
Finish the ride by passing Thammasat University, following the river to reach Rambuttri and Khao San Road, lively areas to conclude your discovery on a festive note.

Starting again from Samsen, begin your adventure along the Saen Saep Canal, where you may spot exotic animals such as monitor lizards. Stop at Wat Sitaram, a discreet temple known mostly to locals.
Continue along the Saen Saep Canal, passing through local neighborhoods until reaching the Jim Thompson House, home of the famous American adventurer of the 1950s and passionate advocate of Thai silk. You can visit his teak house with a French or English-speaking guide.*
